Grandfather Clocks

One thing I don't see very often anymore are grandfather clocks. And there was a time when they were very common place. I remember my grandparents on my dad's side of the family used to have an old grandfather clock in their home. Just thinking about that clock brings a rush of memories from when I was younger, visiting their home, sitting by the fire and always in the background was the ticking of the clock. Their grandfather Clock had a pleasing tone that would sound on the quarter hours.
Now, if I were to choose a Grandfather Clock I would definitely go for a more minimalist style. Such as the one pictured above, I prefer a clean look that's not overly elaborate. I found the clock above in the Howard Miller Collection at 1-800-4CLOCKS. I was really impressed with their selection of all things related to keeping time, but the grandfather clocks are what really jumped out at me. The 1-800-4CLOCKS site has lots of info on their site, and if you found my grandfather clock choice a little boring, the have clocks that are, well, more grand. Clocks with more intricate woodwork and glass detail as well as modern and contemporary grandfather clocks. You know, something for everyone and every taste.
If you want more info, visit their site and take a browse for yourself.
