Where do telephone poles come from? Now you'll know

I never really thought much about telephone poles. I don't think many people do unless there is a problem with their phone, cable, or electric. some cities, like San Francisco or even smaller ones like Woodstock Vermont have underground power and phone lines. Cities like that look very picturesque but when the time comes to maintain / upgrade your grid get ready for a tax hike. I also never thought about what goes into a telephone pole, how many wood products do we expect to last at least fifty years with constant exposure to the elements. Not very many that I can think of, and a major one allow us to light our homes, call our friends, and keep our food fresh. So remember, don't take your telephone poles for granted.
