I just wanted to say, well type really, a few words about what the back end of a furniture store is like when the owners won't put any investment into a good inventory and order tracking system. In two words, it sucks. Ok Maybe three, it really sucks.
I speak from experience, I reiterated time and again the importance of keeping a good inventory and keeping track of open and closed orders. But, it was kind of like hitting my head against a wall.

Most of you are probably trying to figure out why I went off on this tangent. I did because I found some great order management software that I plan on sharing with a few former co-workers because I know they are still in a terrible situation, hand counting the items in a twenty thousand square foot warehouse on a regular basis. Think about how much time and money is being spent by having two or three guys spend 8-12 hours a piece each week to perform a task that a program would do automatically. Tasks like inventory, order tracking, fulfillment, and shipping.
