Audio Ads on Blogs?

There's a new advertising wave sweeping through the blogosphere right now called Net Audio Ads. While this is an innovative marketing ploy by ad companies it can be a double edged sword for a website owner. Here's how it works:

The owner of a blog or website signs up with a company like Web Audio Ads who works with advertising companies to get their ads on your computer. So, after signing up this an audio ad company a website owner puts a small amount of code into the html of their website or blog and every time a visitor comes to your site a five second audio ad plays. For website and blog owners this is great, you get paid for every visitor who enters your site. Website visitors, however, don't seem quite as excited as website owners do.

Now that this advertising strategy has entered the lime light, I believe the companies who participate in the program will start to grow, and thus their will be targeted audio ads for any site owner who wants to bring in a little extra revenue. I think I might just add an audio ad feature to one or two of my blogs, and if you'd like a little extra cash you may want to do the same.
